About the Emergency Manager
Kurt W. Hahn began his work in public safety as a firefighter and emergency medical technician in 1994 and served the ranks of captain and assistant fire chief. In 2004, Kurt Hahn began his career as a firefighter with the federal government where he continues to serve several specialty emergency services roles. Since 2006, Hahn is the Emergency Manager for the Cornwall Office of Emergency Management, serving both the Town of Cornwall and Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson in Orange County, New York. As a community containing citizens within the ten-mile emergency planning zone for the Indian Point nuclear power plant, Hahn also serves as the radiological emergency preparedness program officer. With numerous certifications and specialist level skill sets, Hahn maintains a readiness posture for all-hazards and CBRNE incidents. Hahn is the recipient of countless recognitions, operational and administrative awards received through his many roles in protecting the public. He is a highly distinguished speaker for fire prevention topics and emergency preparedness education.
